This other Stalin monument stands right next to the one in the previous post. This statue looks more modern, although I can't really tell. Interestingly though, behind the statue is a definitely modern work with faces carved out of stone and placed behind barbed wire. Again, my trusty Lonely Planet book says it's a representation of the millions killed in the purges. It's eerie and disturbing.
